I am so GLAD that we have a BLACK President. Maybe this will up lift us spiritually and mentally. also help our children that feel that they can do anything if they put their mind to it and that the world isn't all against their success. that we can be more than Rapper or Sport player. we are Doctors, lawyers, and Politicians.

Barack Obam got a lot of enthusiastic support over here in Europe and in Germany as well. Were there elections to be held in Germany with Obama running against McCain, Obama would have won by a 84 : 16 percentage ratio according to public polls before election day.
Barack Obama will be doing the right thing - first cleaning up the United States and getting done with the mess after 8 years of a catastrophic government with President-in-charge Dick Cheney and Pres-actor George Doube-U. Building schools, building up much more green business including solar energy, founding a society upon mutual respect of all citizens, ending useless and harmful wars abroad - the agenda of Barack Obama is long and as he said, it will not be possible to get done with it in one term. Your new President will need alot of your support - by Afro-Americans, white Americans, Asia-American - so by all Ammericans - support has not color on it. And he will need this support all the more because it is apparent to me that he will not succeed quickly with all the challenges without encountering new problems. Je will have to do certain things first and put others forther back on the agenda. Don't be impatient with him.
Over here in Europe people are happy to see a new President coming to office very soon: a man with dignity, intellctual capacities, compassion and a sense of direction. And let's not forget, your new First Lady is a brilliant woman, as well.
Obama is NOT black, he is an American. We all are and it seems that the one change we all should make is to stop segregating ourselves and allowing others to segregate us because of the pain of our past. As an AMERICAN president, Obama does have a lot ahead of him and it may take him a second term to fix what was broken.
If you have a passport look at it, it says that our nationality is American and we all should do our part to ensure that Obama does succeed. We also will need to stimulate this economy the best way we can.

Jewelz, I agree with you 100 percent. That's why I didn't mention at all the color of Barack Obama's skin when I made my comment above? Or did I?
I regarded this fundamental message - there is just the United states of America - of his campaign a major strength, and he will certainly not fall back into those categories of skin color and races if running your country in the next 4 years ahead.
I wish all of you in the U.S. good luck - we all, also over here in Europa - will need it and will depend on progress being made in your country. There is a sense of relief all over the world that this ignorant person - George Double-U - will be ex-president in a couple of days. He has not made this world a better, safer, juster place during his tenure.

Jewelz,
I see what you mean, but I find it totally o.k. that on november 4 the black communitic and other minorities in teh U.S, did rejoice over this election result. Rightly so. Even I had tears in my eyes when Barack Obama gave his speech in Chicago at this historical day.
It is - like Neil Armstrong said, when he touched the surface of Moon - a leap for mankind that someone - the most unlikely candidate, as Barack Obama put it - was elected. It was not self evident before, and it says a lot positive about the maturity of the political culture and the existence of commom sense in the U.S. that you will indeed soon have a president who does not come from this W.A.S.P background.
Barack Obama - and perhaps even more so his wife, Michelle Obama - do represent a different part of the American society and - yet - are well aware that they have been elected by 53 percent of the ballot - and are going to govern 100 percent of the American people soon.

Third and - hopefully - last comment:
I see no contradiction between being black and being American. Barack Obama is black (well, at least 50 percent are), and he is american. Americans - that is what all of you have in common. It is written in your passport - it was even written into Sarah Palin's passport when she got one a year ago in order to find out how things are in other locations like Russia which she could already see from her kitchen window...
Some are black, some are white, some are asian, and there are still some more categories in which people see themselves differently. Differences are not identical with contradictions.
II personally didn't vote for Obama because he was black. I would have still voted for him if he was white, yellow, purple or green. There is no way I was going to let McCain (Lil' Bush) get elected and make the U.S. worse off than it already is. I feel like Obama is going to bring a positive change to our country. Its gonna take some time (Lord knows how long) but when you're in the position that our country is in, there's no place to go but up.
He's a politician. Hes not the savior of black people He has a job to do hopefully he is good at it. Im glad he is in the position, its a good look. Dont We all wish Bush did a better job even if he is White and wont we be just as fucked up if Barack does no better
